Fourth of July

We have had a busy weekend with The Family Festival, ward breakfast, city parade, Mud Mania, Neighborhood BBQ, and fireworks.

Chase (on the right) was able to help with the City's flag ceremony for the Family Festival.

Aubrie got about 1/2 way muddy, but told me that mud wasn't for girls because "girls are beautiful".

Camp Floyd-Civil War Camp

This week our family headed up to Salt Lake so Chase and Aiden could attend a three-day civil war camp at Camp Floyd (southwest of Lehi). The soldiers set up Camp Floyd after they came to Utah to stop the supposed Mormon Rebellion. They were then ordered back to fight in the Civil War.

The camp was run as if the boys were recruited into the Army at that time. They were given a lot of things to take home (wooden rifle and handgun, games, canteen, haversack, "gold", civil war money, hats, and other items). Chase was Union, Aiden was Confederate. At the end they had a battle that we came to watch. They both had a blast.

On another note, we think we have a place to rent in Salt Lake (we have rented our home in Cedar). No one wanted to rent to us for only 6 months--we are hoping to look around during that time and possibly buy after that.

We drove by our old house and one of our old neighbors happened to be outside. He called the bishop (who was a good friend when we lived there) and he knew of a person in their ward wanting to rent. We actually had another house to rent that fell through, so it looks like we will be back in our old ward for a while.

Aaron has been taking the kids (and the neighbor kids) to the park every night to practice baseball. Aiden starts machine pitch this week.

Easter/ Frog

Chase bought a frog to dissect. Aiden and Aubrie lasted about 2 minutes. Chase and his friend Alex Selden were a little too excited about it.

Our Parowan Easter Egg "Hunt". We convinced Chase to go by telling him that the newspaper said the eggs for the older kids were hidden well. Due to snow covering the field, they didn't have too many places to hide everything.
