Arizona and Hoover Dam

This weekend we went to Kingman, AZ to visit the Hagler family. It was great to get away and see everyone. We were able to see Trey play baseball and basketball, and Tracie and I went to Hailey's basketball tournament. The kids had a lot of fun playing with each other as always. Sadly, I forgot to take pictures until it was too late.

Below are some pictures of the Hoover Dam--we stopped on our way home.

You can see the bridge they're building in the background.

Off to Kazakhstan!

This is a picture taken a few weeks ago as Grandma and Grandpa Shaw stopped by to visit on their way home from a trip to Florida and Pennyslvania.

We thought that was a long trip, but they just received a mission call to Almaty, Kazakhstan in the Moscow, Russia Mission! We are very excited for them, but we will miss them! They will leave this July for 24 months. Congratulations Grandma and Grandpa!

Chase's 10th birthday

February 24 was Chase's 10th birthday! As you can see below, Aubrie didn't want to wait until after dinner for cake. We have to watch her every second.

Chase was able to take treats to school for his birthday and he had scouts that night. Because we didn't have a lot of time Tuesday, we are going to do something fun Saturday. Chase got a new basketball, some "tatoos", a bionicle, some motorcycle toys, and some art supplies (he loves to draw).

What is your favorite color? Green
What is your favorite food? Cereal (Honey Nut Cheerios)
What is your favorite sport? Football
What do you want to be when you grow up? Electrical Salesman
What do you like to do? Play with friends and see my family
What is your favorite school subject? History

Chase is growing up to be a great kid. He is smart, active, and kind to others. He is doing well in school and has a lot of friends. His scout leader said he was one of the better behaved boys in his group. We love having Chase in our family!

Aiden's tooth

Aiden's front tooth has been loose for over a year and it FINALLY fell out today--with a lot of help from Aiden. It wasn't his first, but it was probably the most exciting!

Grandma and Grandpa Shelton

Grandma and Grandpa Shelton came down from Oregon to visit. They stayed for a few days then headed south to get warm and visit Troy's and Tracie's families. We had a lot of fun. They were able to see both boys play basketball, go shopping in St. George, and play a lot of cards. We will miss them!

Grandpa and the boys playing electronic battleship.

Grandpa flipping his "famous" pancakes. Who is brave enough to eat them? You never know what's in them.

Aiden's Collection (& the Pox)

Because I wouldn't allow Aiden to collect a "bucket of scabs", he has resorted to collecting garbage. He's pretty proud of it. I caught him stuffing his pockets at Home Depot last night. Thinking he might be shoplifting, I checked his pockets only to find old screws and bits of rubber pipe he found on the floor. I can't sweep the floor without him picking all the non-perishable bits out of the pile. Hopefully it won't last long. :) Here are a few of his treasures:

I almost forgot to mention Aiden came down with the Chicken Pox Thursday. He woke up complaining of itchy little sores. He had been immunized so Chicken Pox didn't even cross my mind. Thinking they were bug bites, I sent him to school. I spent that morning changing sheets and shaking out blankets looking for that dang spider. When he came home from school he had more "spider bites" all over his face. Finally realizing it was the chicken pox, he's home from school for a few days (he's not too sad).

Finally....

After four years of not sleeping in her own bed, Aubrie has just started going to bed in her own room. She is pretty proud of herself, and mom and dad get a little more sleep. (Until she comes in around 3 or 4 am)
